About Rebecca
I obtained a bachelor’s degree in Jewish Studies and Comparative Literature, with a senior honors thesis in visual art, from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a master of social work degree from Capella University. Additionally, I have multiple years of experience working to create trauma-sensitive spaces and learning approaches in various educational settings (pre-school, elementary and early intervention) and have provided school-based mental health to students of all ages.

My practice, with clients across the lifespan, places an emphasis on identifying clients’ sources of inspiration through identification of values and, depending on clients’ interests.

The use of creative expression (music, poetry and visual art). I strive to affirm my clients’ identities and all aspects of their personhood including LGBTQ+, gender-expansive and neurodiverse clients. I find the process of building relationships and getting to know my clients incredibly rewarding and feel that it is a privilege to share time and space with each of them.

In addition to individual therapy, I provide family and co-parenting therapy to support healing and focus on a positive vision of a shared future.

As I work with my clients to identify what is most important to them, identifying their truth and guiding principles, my own values of compassion and accountability guide my practice. I welcome all emotions and concerns and support my clients in direct engagement with their needs and concerns. Additionally, I draw on techniques and theoretical frameworks from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior (DBT), somatic theories, internal family systems and attachment and emotional development with a trauma-informed focus and an emphasis on developing self-compassion.
